Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel and Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum will officially debut on Tuesday, September 29, in downtown Nashville.
Parton died peacefully in Nashville on August 25 at age 80. Her death prompted tributes worldwide honoring her seven-decade career in music, film, business, and philanthropy.
Created in partnership with Parton and Herschend, SongTeller Hotel is described as Dolly’s “love letter to Nashville.” The property will feature 245 guest rooms and suites, a café and two live entertainment venues — Jolene’s and Parton’s Live.
Jolene’s, located on the hotel’s top floor, will feature nightly performances from rising singers and songwriters, while Parton’s Live will offer writers’ rounds, songwriter sessions and artist showcases.
The entire third floor will be home to Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, an immersive look at Parton’s life and career featuring personal stories, rarely seen items and interactive exhibits. The experience begins with a recreation of the small Smoky Mountains cabin where Parton grew up and includes newly filmed segments featuring Parton herself guiding visitors through parts of her story.
Hotel reservations open Sept. 14, while museum tickets will go on sale when the attraction officially opens Sept. 29. Beginning September 14, when guest reservations open for SongTeller Hotel, the venues will come alive with a dynamic lineup of live performances and entertainment programming, including Dolly Parton’s family members and emerging artists. Parton’s cousin Richie Owens will perform September 16 at Parton’s Live, with Parton’s niece Jada Star launching her twice-weekly artist-in-residence September 17 and September 19. Additionally, SongTeller Hotel is partnering with FEMcountry – the platform founded by veteran music industry executive Leslie Fram to champion women in music – to spotlight established female artists and songwriters through monthly performances in Parton’s Live.
The opening now takes on added significance following Parton’s death, giving fans a new place in Nashville to experience and celebrate the life of one of Tennessee’s most recognizable cultural icons. Find more information about the hotel here.
