Henry Grady Lowery Sr, of Murfreesboro passed away Monday, October 19, 2026. Born in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Fannie and Robert Lowery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Grady Lee Lowery, Grandson Buddy Allen Mosley, brothers Michael Lowery, Johnny Lowery and Jimmy Lowery.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Lucille Lowery, daughters Joyce (Jeff) Mosley, Shirley (Jeremy) Barrett, son Henry (Susan) Lowery; grandchildren Deborah (James) Lemke, Austin (Emilee) Barrett, Jacob (Meredith) Lowery, Alex (Ashley) Barrett, Jason Barrett, Mason Mosley; great grandchildren, Andrew Gibson, Aubree Barrett, Harrison Barrett, Bradley Lowery, Isabelle Barrett, Lorelei Barrett, Eleanor Lowery, siblings, Martha Cawthon, Robert Lowery, Thomas Lowery, Jerry (Elizabeth) Lowery also several nieces and nephews survive.
A member of Milton Baptist church, were he served as a Deacon. Mr. Lowery retired as a mechanic from the city of Murfreesboro. One of his favorite pastimes was to “tinker” on anything and everything he could find. His favorite pastime was spending time with his babies and family.
The Lowery family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 21,2026 beginning at 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 22, 2026, in the chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at Coleman Cemetery.
