The Tennessee Department of Correction is now accepting applications for its fall 2026 Citizens’ Correctional Academy, a six-week program that gives Tennesseans an inside look at the department and the work of more than 5,000 correctional professionals.
Classes will be held Thursday evenings from Oct. 8 through Nov. 12 at various TDOC locations in Nashville. The sessions will run from 6 to 9 p.m.
Participants will tour three correctional facilities and learn more about community supervision, rehabilitation and reentry programs.
Applications will be accepted through Tuesday, Sept. 15.
The Citizens’ Correctional Academy was first launched in 2014 to give members of the public a behind-the-scenes look at TDOC’s operations and its mission to enhance public safety.
