OutsideCon 2026 is set for September 11, 12 & 13, 2026, at Montgomery Bell State Park (1020 Jackson Hill Road, Burns, TN) – where “Ernest Goes to Camp” was filmed.

Check-in: Friday after 12 pm → Check-out: Sunday by 12 pm

Enjoy water play, fishing, hiking, and nature all weekend!

Weekend Highlights:

Competitions:
Archery Competition: Saturday ~3pm at the shooting range / Shooters & Spectators welcome.
Fishing Competition: Starts Friday ~3–4pm, ends Saturday at sundown. Be sure to take a photo of your catches.

Movies Under the Stars:

Saturday Morning:
Coffee & Bird Watching with Don McKenzie.
Early stroll through the park. Bring binoculars if you have them. Meet at the main lodge.

Hot Wheels Race after breakfast with Joe Dog & Co. at the Lower Pavilion
Bring your favorite tiny car to race for your chance to win the Grand Prix.

Saturday Night:
Open Music Jam under the pavilion.
Bring an instrument, sing along, or hurl fruit as the evening dictates.

Gaming All Weekend
Bring your own games to the main lodge. Friends to play with guaranteed.

Make-it-Take-it
Primitive Fire-Making demo by wildman Scooter Armstrong – bow drills, flint & steel, etc.

Arts & Crafts All Weekend
Camp Counselor Mars has markers, glitter, glue & popsicle sticks in the Main Lodge. Make fridge-worthy keepsakes!

The Annual Picture
Saturday evening outside the main lodge before the big feast on Saturday evening. Time will be posted around camp – don’t miss it!

NEW FOR 2026: SPACE PARTY! Saturday Evening
Nationally recognized space educator Chuck Schlemm brings large telescopes for planet viewing in the big field next to the Main Lodge.
