Preceded in death by husbands, Dr. Charles C. Sams and Paul W. Stevenson; and son, Thomas C. Sams.
Survived by daughter, Robin Sams (Jerry) Byrd; son, John David (Karen) Sams; stepsons, Jeffrey Stevenson and Erik (Lisa) Stevenson; grandchildren, Jeremy (Misty) Byrd, Patrick Byrd, Lia (William) Davis, Cherish Hope (Brandon) Strickland, Charles J. (Megan) Sams, Ashley (Danny) Fowler, Kayla (Garrett) Lukacs; Jason Stevenson, Dustin Stevenson, Ava Stevenson, Christopher Stevenson and Kevin Stevenson; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, June Dills and Barbara Tapp; and brothers Edger Johnson and Douglas Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. (visitation 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road.
Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Grandsons and grandson-in-law will serve as Pallbearers.
