Robert Lee “Bob” Bang, 76, of Woodbury, Tennessee, passed into the loving arms of Jesus at 11:20pm on March 29th, 2025 at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN.
Robert was born on July 29th, 1948 in Muscatine, Iowa. He married Rebecca Bang on February 11th, 1979. They were married for over 45 years. He was the love of her life. She survives.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Darleen and Raymond Bang, his sister, Sandra Cary, and his brother, Raymond “Skip” Bang.
Survivors include his loving wife Rebecca Bang of Woodbury, TN, his daughter, Jennifer Guilfoyle (Jason) of Maywood, MO., his son Jonathon Bang (Jennie) of Morrison, TN, and five grandchildren, Isaiah Bang, Bella Bang, Ruby Guilfoyle, Arley Guilfoyle, and Indy Guilfoyle.
Additional survivors include his siblings Ronnie Bang (Blanca) of Alameda, CA., Bev Petersen (Dennis) of Mediapolis, IA., and Betty Ann Kube (Fred) from Dewitt, IA.
Robert was an avid craftsman and woodworker. He owned/operated a business building cabinetry with his family for 30+ years. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1972.
Robert enjoyed gardening and yardwork, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. They brought much joy to his life, often bringing out his playful and silly side. His grandchildren fondly remember him referring to them in silly natures such as “Monkey” or “George”. He was fiercely loved and will be greatly missed.
Per his request, no services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held in honor of Robert at a later date.
