Mrs. Nettie Marie Dodson Henderson, age 95 of Kingston Springs, TN passed away on May 30, 2024.
Marie was born August 12, 1928 in Dickson County. She was a daughter of the late Cam Fitzgerald Dodson, and the late Augusta Cathey Dodson.
She was the mother of nine children, which was certainly a full-time job for much of her life. She enjoyed reading all things. Marie could finish a book quickly, and she also enjoyed reading the newspaper each day. Before a decline in her health, she attended services at the Kingston Springs Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Henderson Jr.; six of her children, baby Faye, Lynette Henderson, James “Jimmy” Henderson III, Larry Henderson, Sue Pittman, Gail Carpenter; her brothers, Woodrow Dodson, Cam Dodson Jr., and J.D. Dodson.
Marie Henderson is survived by her son, Don Wayne Henderson (Billie) of Kingston Springs, TN; her daughters, Joyce Gentry and Barbara Wright, both of Kingston Springs, TN; her brother, Homer Dodson (Connie) of Kingston Springs, TN; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her 3 pet dogs.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Taylor Funeral Home with Homer Dodson officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Spring Hill Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Pike S., Nashville, TN 37126. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Thursday from 8:30 AM until the time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
