A seven-month investigation by the MNPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit has led to the arrest of a Nashville church employee on a charge of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
Police say 34-year-old Jason Douglas Ford was taken into custody Tuesday at his Donelson-area home following an investigation that began in January.
According to investigators, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a cybertip involving child sexual abuse material that had allegedly been shared in Davidson County through the KIK app.
Detectives say subpoenas to internet providers determined that Ford’s email address was used to create the KIK account from which the file was shared. The IP address connected to the cybertip was also traced to Ford’s residence.
Ford is listed as the facilities coordinator at Midtown Fellowship in Nashville.
He was charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and his bond was set at $75,000.
