The daylong festival celebrates the creativity, innovation and cultural impact of Black artists with live music, visual art, dance, spoken word, food, family activities and more.
This year’s theme, “Next Gen,” highlights a new generation of Black artists and their influence on music, art and culture. Live music will be curated by Lovenoise, a Nashville organization that has helped shape the city’s Black music scene for more than 20 years.
The musical lineup includes Nashville-born songwriter Esi, singer-songwriter Ten Smith and singer, songwriter and producer Kenny Sharp. Additional performers and DJs will be announced later. Guests can also enjoy performances by Sankofa Drum and Dance Company, spoken word from Artists Rooted in TN Sound & Stories, a fine art exhibition featuring emerging and established artists, a collaborative art project with Nashville artist Nija Woods, and a screening of the documentary “Transparent Colors of Nashville.”
Other activities include a family art project inspired by artist Alma Thomas, local food vendors, an artisan marketplace curated by The Black Art Market, and the Urbaanite Nashville Lounge, a 21-and-up cocktail tasting experience featuring African American-owned spirits brands.
Black Arts Bash is free for Cheekwood members. General admission tickets are $20 for adults, and youth ages 3–17 are free. Tickets include access to the Historic Mansion & Museum and are available at Cheekwood.org.
