Cannon County Schools will be closed Friday, September 27, 2024, due to incoming inclement weather.
The National Weather Service reports that Hurricane Helene is forecasted to make landfall on the evening of September 26 over the Florida panhandle as a major hurricane and will then move north and weaken. This will bring periods of rain and breezy winds to Middle TN into the weekend. Steady rain will move in on Thursday evening with periods of moderate to heavy rain into Friday. Rain will become more showery later Friday and will continue into the weekend. Winds will peak Friday afternoon and evening with gusts 25-40 mph possible.
