GRAMMY-winning rock band Switchfoot is headed to one of Nashville’s most iconic stages. The band will make its Grand Ole Oprydebut on Thursday, July 23, following the release of their new album, Forever Now, which arrived on June 26. More Entertainment News

The Opry invitation came with a surprise assist from longtime friends the Jonas Brothers, who shared the news with Switchfoot during an appearance on the iHeartPodcast Hey Jonas!.

“So incredibly honored to have been invited to debut at the Grand Ole Opry in July. Unreal!” said Switchfoot in a release. “Even better to hear the news from our friends the Jonas Brothers. So stoked… see you soon, Nashville!”

The connection between the two bands goes back to the early days of the Jonas Brothers, who have often credited Switchfoot as an inspiration. In 2023, Switchfoot celebrated the 20th anniversary of its GRAMMY-winning album The Beautiful Letdown by re-recording the project with several artists, including the Jonas Brothers, who joined them on the title track.

The collaboration continued when the Jonas Brothers featured Switchfoot on the title track of their album Greetings From Your Hometown. Switchfoot was also the first surprise guest on the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour, where the bands performed “Meant To Live” by Switchfoot and “Hold On” by the Jonas Brothers together.

Switchfoot’s latest album, Forever Now, is a 13-track collection centered on the emotional roller coaster of a person’s final day on Earth and the questions that might accompany that reality. Produced by longtime collaborator Mike Elizondo and recorded largely at Elizondo’s Phantom Studios outside Nashville, the project is being described as the most thematic and narrative-driven album of the band’s career. The album’s lead single, “Absolution,” is out now.
