Mark your calendar for the Cannon County Schools PreK/Kindergarten screening registration event.
The event will take place on May 20, 2026 from 9am – 6pm.
This event is for families entering Pre-K (children who will turn 4 by August 15, 2026) and for familiess entering Kindergarten (children who will turn 5 by August 15, 2026 AND are NOT currently enrolled in Cannon County Schools Pre-K program). Those presently enrolled in Pre-K will be automatically enrolled in Kindergarten for the next school year, once you have completed the packet that will come home with your child from school.
This event is also for any child who is 21/2 to 6 years of age AND is not currently enrolled in school AND is suspected of having developmental delays (in speech/language skills, motor skills or other developmental areas).
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE ATTENDING:
Allow 1 1/2 hours to complete the screening with your child
Your child must be present
Proof of residence (utility bill with your name and address)
Birth certificate (official copy)
Immunization record with proof of physical (Health Department copy)
Social Security Card
Proof of custody, if necessary
Verification of income for Pre-K registration only (your application will not be processed until this documentation has been turned in)
All documents are required by orientation in Fall of 2026
Due to space constraints, only one adult should accompany the child being screened.
