Forced Fumble Sets Up the Game-Winning Score
Rickey Lee III forced a fumble, and Korey Smith recovered it, giving Roman Gagliano and the offense the ball at the Nevada 21-yard line. Redshirt senior running back Antonio Martin Jr. finished the five-play drive with a three-yard touchdown run. Martin ran 23 times for 104 yards in the game.
Roman Gagliano Throws Two Touchdown Passes
Gagliano completed 16 of 29 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns in his fourth career win as Middle Tennessee’s quarterback. Koraun Perdue opened the scoring with a 23-yard reception, the first touchdown of his career. Cam’ron Lacy added a 10-yard score in the third quarter, his fifth career touchdown and third in as many games.
Blue Raiders Defense Forces Three Turnovers
Smith had 10 tackles along with his fumble recovery, and the fumble was the third straight game the Blue Raiders forced one. Jason Hardy made his first career interception in the third quarter. Jackson Lowe recorded his first career sack, forced fumble and fumble recovery on the same play.
