A Hendersonville woman was sentenced to 12 years in prison Monday after being convicted of exposing two children to a man she knew had sexually abused a child, according to the Sumner County District Attorney’s Office.
Stacy Gann Alessio, 46, was convicted by a jury in June. Criminal Court Judge Dee David Gay sentenced her to 12 years in prison without the possibility of probation, parole or early release.
According to evidence presented at trial, Alessio walked in on her then-husband, Christopher Howard Alessio, sexually abusing a child in their White House home in 2006. Prosecutors said she did not intervene or report the abuse and instead removed the child from the home.
In 2013, while Stacy and Christopher Alessio were going through a divorce, she contacted the victim through Facebook and apologized for not protecting her. She later provided additional details about what she had witnessed in another conversation with the victim in 2017.
By 2022, Stacy and Christopher Alessio were living together in Hendersonville. Prosecutors said they frequently hosted parties and sleepovers for pre-teen girls, including children connected to a local middle school dance team that Stacy helped run.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, Christopher Alessio was primarily responsible for caring for the children during the sleepovers. During the summer of 2022, he raped and sexually abused two girls who were staying at the home.
Christopher Alessio was arrested in October 2022 after one of the victims reported the abuse. The 2006 victim then provided law enforcement with messages from Stacy Alessio.
Hendersonville Police Detective Jason Steffy arrested Stacy Alessio in January 2023 after she was indicted by the Sumner County Grand Jury.
In 2025, Christopher Alessio was convicted of more than 25 felony counts related to the sexual abuse of six children, including the 2006 victim. He was sentenced to 162 years in prison without the possibility of parole or early release.
Stacy Alessio has been held in the Sumner County Jail since her June conviction and will remain there until she is transported to prison.
