In 2020, Jeanna and Michael Loyd opened Eagleville Mercantile and Restoration in an old florist shop located at 116 South Main Street in Eagleville. Six years later, they are still showcasing a community of vendors who have become family, as well as adding new vendors who came on when The Painted Tree closed.
Eagleville Mercantile and Restoration is the perfect place to go for unique gifts, home goods, furniture and more while supporting local creative entrepreneurs.
“We’re a locally owned shop in the heart of Eagleville featuring 41 vendors from right here in Middle Tennessee,” explains their Facebook page. “Since opening our doors in December 2020, we’ve been proud to offer unique gifts, home décor, furniture, local foods, handmade items, and so much more. In fact, 60-70% of the items in our store have some type of handmade element, making every visit a little different, and every find a little more special.”
What They Carry in the Store
They carry fabric art, like one-of-a-kind pillows made from repurposed vintage quilts — including cats and dachshunds, patriotic themes, whimsical mushroom wreaths, and framed artwork. Every item is handmade and one-of-a-kind.
Looking for a special wedding gift? Here is the place to look for a special piece for the happy couple. From handcrafted cutting boards and artisan bowls to beautiful pottery mugs, they have thoughtful, handmade, memorable items that will surely help newlyweds start their next chapter together.
Unique gifts for any occasion can be found there, too, including grilling tools, tumblers, home décor, Eagleville school tee shirts, and candles. One of the most creative items they offer are hand-burned cowboy hats made by a local 18-year-old entrepreneur.
Supporting Local Artisans and Small Businesses
“Around here, we love supporting small businesses,” the Facebook page explains, “and it doesn’t get much more local than this. These beautiful hand-burned hats are created one at a time by a young artisan with a passion for western style and creativity. Each hat is unique, full of character, and made with care. Whether you’re headed to a concert, rodeo, girls’ trip, or just love a little western flair, these hats are ready to go wherever life takes you.”
Every spring they receive a limited number of locally made cedar Adirondack chairs and tables which go quickly, as well as cute wood planters for the garden. They also carry reimagined furniture that has been given a new life with a new look.
“These stunning handcrafted red cedar Adirondack chair sets are back and ready for summer evenings, morning coffee, and front porch conversations,” the Loyd’s report on their Facebook page. “Each set includes two chairs and a matching table, showcasing the natural beauty and durability of genuine red cedar. There’s nothing quite like the warmth of cedar wood and a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the season.”
Beauty and Skincare Products
Many of their bath, body, and skincare products are handcrafted with simple, thoughtfully selected ingredients. From goat’s milk soaps and moisturizers to botanical skincare, magnesium products, body butters, lotions, and handmade soaps, they love supporting makers who create products with quality and care.
“Whether you’re looking for a new moisturizer, a natural deodorant, a relaxing magnesium lotion, or a little self-care treat, we’ve got something for everyone,” noted the Facebook page.
Items for Quilters
Green Acres Timber and Threads is now carrying pre-cut quilting fabrics in their area in the store. From gorgeous florals to farmhouse prints to colorful bundles, these fabrics are perfect for quilting, sewing, or a crafting project. Whether a seasoned quilter or just getting started, everyone is going to love looking through all the new patterns and colors they have in stock. And the bonus, they can custom embroider names on quilts, towels, baby items, gifts, and so much more!
Tasty Handmade Treats
The shelves at Eagleville Mercantile and Restoration are filled with deliciousness once again thanks to fresh deliveries from customer favorites The Savory Nest and The Sugared Gem. Savory Nest offers fresh breads, muffins and cookies, including their very popular sweet Cinnamon Roll Focaccia, and savory Portabella Mushroom and Onion Focaccia. The Sugared Gem offers tasty Angel Food cupcakes. Other food items include jams, jellies and apple butters.
“You have such a great shop with so many unique items,” said one reviewer. “We make a point during our travels south to pop in, see what is new and what’s been around since the start. We always find a number of items to bring home.”
