Less than two months after Dolly Parton‘s death, two projects she was deeply involved in creating are now officially open in downtown Nashville.
Parton died Aug. 25 at age 80 in Nashville after a brief battle with cancer. Her SongTeller Hoteland Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum now give fans a new way to experience her life, career, and legacy.
The new destination was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that included children whose lives have been impacted by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Created in partnership with Dolly Parton and Herschend, SongTeller Hotel features 240 rooms and suites, dining, live entertainment, and experiences inspired by Parton’s life and career.

Among the hotel’s attractions are SongTeller Café, Parton’s Live and Jolene’s, a top-floor live music and entertainment space inspired by one of Parton’s best-known songs.
“Dolly’s greatest legacy may be the way she has made people feel — seen, welcomed, inspired and connected,” said Shannon Foster, general manager of SongTeller Hotel at the event. “That is the spirit we hope guests feel the moment they walk into SongTeller.”
Parton was closely involved in developing both the hotel and museum, reviewing details, sharing stories, and helping make creative decisions throughout the process.
Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, created by Dolly Parton Productions, takes visitors through Parton’s life beginning with her birth on Jan. 19, 1946. The experience covers her childhood in the Great Smoky Mountains, early music career, Grand Ole Opry years, rise to international stardom, and work in film and television.
The museum also highlights Parton’s family, faith, fashion, philanthropy and major career milestones through memorabilia, costumes, music and immersive exhibits.
“Today we open the doors to Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville, a day our family and our team have dreamed about for years,” said Rebecca Seaver, executive director of the museum. “I hope everyone who visits leaves inspired to dream, just as Dolly did.”
AOA served as the creative and production partner for the museum and project manager for the hotel, working alongside Parton, her team and Herschend to bring the project to life.
SongTeller Hotel and Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum are located in downtown Nashville at 211 Commerce Street, Nashville. Find more information about the hotel and museum here.
