The Grand Ole Opry will celebrate Vince Gill’s 35th anniversary as an Opry member with two special shows on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. More Entertainment News
Gill will be joined by longtime friends and fellow Opry members Ricky Skaggs and Patty Loveless, along with his wife Amy Grant, vocalist Wendy Moten and additional guests to be announced.
Gill made his Opry debut on June 29, 1989, and was inducted as a member on Aug. 10, 1991. Over the past 35 years, the Country Music Hall of Fame member has become one of the Opry’s most recognizable ambassadors, regularly returning to perform, collaborate with fellow artists and welcome new members.
Gill has earned 22 GRAMMY Awards and 19 CMA Awards during his career. His catalog includes “When I Call Your Name,” “I Still Believe in You,” “Whenever You Come Around,” “Look at Us” and “One More Last Chance.” His song “Go Rest High On That Mountain” has also been selected for preservation in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry.
The anniversary comes during another milestone year for Gill. He recently completed his 50 Years From Home Tour, marking five decades since leaving Oklahoma to pursue a career in music. The tour included a sold-out six-night residency at the Ryman Auditorium.
Gill is also continuing his 50 Years From Home music series, a year-long collection of EPs featuring new recordings and selections from his catalog.
He will continue performing with the Eagles during upcoming dates at Sphere in Las Vegas and will return to the Ryman in December for the annual Christmas at the Ryman residency with Amy Grant.
