Three Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders were selected in the 2026 MLB Draft, marking the program’s 78th through 80th all-time picks — the most since 2018 and a record for the 20-round format. Right-handed pitchers Drew Horn and David Horn Jr. and outfielder Owen Nowak all heard their names called Sunday in Philadelphia. More Sports News

Drew Horn Goes to the St. Louis Cardinals

Smyrna, Tennessee native Drew Horn was taken in the 12th round (354th overall) by St. Louis after earning All-CUSA second team honors in 2025 with a 1.75 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 46.1 innings. He also threw the fifth no-hitter in program history against Oakland on March 9, 2025, striking out a career-high 13. Horn logged 35.2 innings across ten appearances in 2026.

Owen Nowak Goes to the Houston Astros

Owen Nowak was selected 361st overall by Houston after slashing .318/.435/.472 in 57 games — his first at the Division I level — while posting the only perfect, error-free outfield season in CUSA. The 2026 All-CUSA second team pick is the first primary outfielder drafted from MTSU since Ronnie Jebavy went to San Francisco in 2015.

David Horn Jr. Goes to the Tampa Bay Rays

David Horn Jr. was taken 563rd overall in the 19th round after leading the Blue Raiders staff in innings (72.0), strikeouts (82), and wins (four) in his lone MTSU season. He earned CUSA Pitcher of the Week after tossing 7.0 innings of one-run ball against Liberty to close out the year.
