Charles “Charlie” Michael Witt, Sr., age 74, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Friday, August 4, 2023 at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.
Mr. Witt was born on June 22, 1949 in Wayne, Michigan, to the late Bert & Effie Scott Witt.
He retired as a mechanic from the United States Army after over 20 years of service and 3 tours in Vietnam. He then retired from Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency as a mechanic shop supervisor.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Witt; grandson, Jeffrey Crutchfield; and brother, Jimmy Witt.
Survivors include his children, Charles M. (Angie) Witt, Jr., Kerri Witt (Jeremiah McClain), Kristina Witt (Joseph Walker), and Matthew (Deanna) Witt, Sr.; sister, Mary (Stephen) Caraway; grandchildren, Kyle Witt (Raven), Kyla Rumbaugh, Jimmy Pinson (Haley), Kimberly Pinson, Alexis Wooten, Konnor McClain, Kollin McClain, Alain McClain, Matthew Witt, Jr., Dacinda Witt, Katelynn Lee, and Ayden Witt; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 11th, with Dennis Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with Jeremiah McClain, Joseph Walker, Konnor McClain, Timothy Loucks, and Sean Loucks serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 10th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 10:00 AM.
