Hundreds of fans and travelers were surprised to see a rare appearance of Dolly Parton at the grand opening of Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville. More Entertainment News

Dolly welcomed fans at the ribbon-cutting by saying, “I’m sure some of you want to know why I wanted a truck stop,” and quickly used her wit and humor, continuing by saying, “Well, I couldn’t leave it to beavers.”

Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop is bringing a new kind of travel center experience to the road. Created through a partnership between Dolly Parton, Danny Nozell and Gregory H. Sachs, owner of the Tennessean Travel Stop brand, the concept is inspired by Dolly’s lifelong connection to the open road, from her East Tennessee childhood to decades spent touring by bus. The stop is designed for truck drivers, families, and travelers looking for more than a typical roadside break.

There have been several comparisons to the other popular travel stop that recently opened in Tennessee, which has a beaver as its mascot. While Dolly’s location is not as large, the main difference is that it is a place for more than a quick stop. A place where it leans more into Tennessee hospitality, storytelling, and entertainment. The Cornersville location includes Dolly’s Cup of Ambition coffee, barbecue, shopping, live music, restrooms, showers, and Dolly-themed merchandise, along with details tied to Parton’s life on the road. There’s even a tour bus and mural for photos, along with a dog park.

Find Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop at 3686 Pulaski Highway, Cornersville. See photos and video from the event below.
