Rebecca “Becky” Judith Salas, age 84, passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 29, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents Otto Edward and Marguerite Mathis and her siblings Julian Lamare Mathis, Carol Wharton, and Gaines Mathis. She is survived by her children Maria Salas and Michael (Sherrie) Salas, her beloved granddaughters Allie Burford (Keith), Samantha Feltman (Jacob), and Owen Salas, two nieces, and four nephews.
Becky served in the U.S. Marines and was a loyal fan of UT Vols sports and the Dallas Cowboys. The family expresses special thanks to the staff at White House Health Care for their loving care the last few years of her life.
Visitation with the family will be held at Belmont United Methodist Church (2007 Acklen Ave., Nashville, TN) on Friday, January 17 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. followed by a brief memorial service at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to Belmont United Methodist Church here or the Nashville Food Project here.
