Mr. James Bryson Johnson, 95, of Woodbury passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026 at St. Thomas Stones River. Born in Bowling, KY. on October 31, 1930, he was the thirteenth child of the late John and Nancy Grimes Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Dale Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Doris Ann Sallee Johnson of Woodbury; 2 sons, Daniel Eugene Johnson of Nashville and David Michael Johnson of Woodbury; grandchildren, Michael Bryson (Amy) Johnson of The Netherlands and William David Johnson of Christiana; great grandchildren, Dakota Hennon, Samuel Christopher and Daniel Michael Johnson; great great grandchildren, Myla Jane Johnson, Isabelle Johnson and Journey Lanius.
A member of the Woodbury Seventh Day Adventist Church, he was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Army. He was a printer for 42 years and enjoyed working at the food bank, gardening and yard work.
His family will receive friends, Sunday July 19, 2026 beginning at 12:00 Noon. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Clark officiating.
