The Nashville Symphony’s cocktails-and-classical-music fundraiser, Spirits of Summer, will return to Schermerhorn Symphony Center on August 14 for its eighth year. More Tennessee Event Venue News
This year’s event, titled “Mythos and Melodies,” will take guests to Ancient Greece for an evening of music, cocktails and friendly competition. Presented in partnership with the Crescendo Club, the event features local mixologists creating custom cocktails inspired by classical music selections performed by Nashville Symphony musicians.
Guests will hear from each bartender about the inspiration behind their cocktail, sample the featured drinks, and listen as Symphony musicians perform the classical pieces that inspired them. Attendees will then vote for their favorite pairing, with the winner announced from the stage at the end of the night.
This year’s participating mixologists include Cal Caplan of Modern Love at Fairlane Hotel, Josh Lindsey of Soho House, Jordan Spaulding of Love’s Alibi and Hunter Thammavongsa of Demure Cocktail Lounge.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. for VIP ticketholders with an exclusive pre-event cocktail party featuring a guided Greek wine tasting, living statues, a harpist performance, and more. General admission begins at 7:30 p.m. with the cocktail competition and concert.
The event will also include a curated silent auction featuring VIP shopping experiences, luxury car rentals, custom portraits, hotel and vacation home stays, a guitar signed by Vince Gill, and other packages. Crescendo Club is the Nashville Symphony’s young professionals organization, supporting the Symphony’s mission to inspire and engage through live music, education, and community programs, while helping to build the next generation of music lovers.
Early bird tickets are on sale now through the Nashville Symphony website. General admission is $100, and VIP tickets are $200. Beginning August 1, tickets increase to $150 for general admission and $250 for VIP. The event is standing-room-only, but guests may add a $25 reserved-seating upgrade in the rear orchestra.
