Middle Tennessee senior Connor Henry won the Bayou City Collegiate Classic in Houston, Texas, capturing the first individual title of his college golf career. Henry closed with a three-under 69 in the third round to finish at 10-under 206 across 54 holes and top the leaderboard. The win gave MTSU men’s golf its second individual title in as many weeks. Connor Henry Posts One of the Lowest Totals in Blue Raiders History
Henry’s 206 is the sixth-lowest 54-hole score in Middle Tennessee program history. It was also the third time a Blue Raider has posted a 206. His victory followed teammate Jake Hopper’s win at the Grover Page Classic one week earlier.
Middle Tennessee Finished Sixth as a Team in Houston
Henry’s three-under round led the Blue Raiders on the final day. As a team, Middle Tennessee shot five-over in the third round and finished in sixth place.
How the Rest of the Blue Raiders Lineup Finished
Freshman Stiles Hunter was the next-best Blue Raider, finishing tied for 42nd at six-over after a two-over 73 in the final round.
Maddox Crowder and Clay Pendergrass both contributed scoring rounds and tied for 52nd at eight-over. Crowder carded three bogeys and two birdies in the third round, while Pendergrass shot three-over on the day.
Jake Hopper rounded out the team lineup at nine-over for the tournament after a six-over final round. The fifth-year player tied for 60th with teammate Oliver Baker, who competed as an individual and closed with an even-par round.
Blue Raiders Head to the Blessings Collegiate Invitational Oct. 3-5
Middle Tennessee returns to competition Oct. 3 for the first round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Arkansas. The tournament runs Oct. 3-5 at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
