Police said 31-year-old Conor Anderson was found in a wooded area next to a parking lot in the 14 James Robertson Parkway area.

Investigators said there are no immediate signs of foul play. The Davidson County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine Anderson’s cause of death.

Anderson had been missing since early Sunday morning after traveling to Nashville for a work conference and checking into the Millennium Maxwell House hotel.

According to Metro police, Anderson flagged down officers around 1 a.m. Sunday in the Woodland Street and Main Street area of East Nashville. He told officers he had given two men $20 to “show him around the area,” but they walked away with his money.

Officers told Anderson they would need his driver’s license to file a formal report, but police said he declined. They encouraged him to use a rideshare to return to his hotel, and he agreed.

Detectives had been reviewing surveillance video, phone records and bank records in an effort to locate Anderson before his body was discovered Friday.

Police have not released any additional information as the investigation continues.
