Go Buckets Fit in a Car Cupholder
For the first time, KFC designed a bucket to be easily held in one hand or set in a standard car cupholder. The goal was to make it simple to eat KFC in the car, at a desk or anywhere else during the day, without needing a full meal setup.
Why KFC Added a Snack Menu
KFC’s chief marketing officer for the U.S., Melissa Cash, said the company wanted its food to fit into customers’ daily routines and to give guests more for their money. The launch lines up with broader shifts in how Americans eat. According to Datassential, 87% of consumers reported snacking outside traditional mealtimes. Takeout also keeps growing, with nearly three out of four restaurant orders now taken to go, according to the National Restaurant Association.
The KFC Bucket Dates Back to 1957
The KFC bucket goes back to 1957, when Colonel Harland Sanders and Pete Harman, KFC’s first franchise owner, started filling paper buckets with 14 pieces of chicken, five rolls and a pint of gravy as a take-home family meal. Nearly 70 years later, Go Buckets put that same idea to work for snacks and quick bites between meals.
Where to Find KFC Go Buckets
Go Buckets are available at participating KFC locations while supplies last. Prices and participation vary by restaurant, and tax, tip and fees are extra. Customers in Middle Tennessee and elsewhere can check with their local KFC or the KFC app to confirm availability and pricing.
