Kenny Chesney is adding one more Nashville show to his calendar as he celebrates the release of new music from his upcoming album, Silver Sands Marina. More Entertainment News
The country superstar will take over The Pinnacle in Nashville for a one-night-only concert on September 25th, with only a limited number of tickets expected to be available. Chesney said the show will give fans an early chance to hear several songs from the new album performed live.
Ahead of the show, fans will also be able to visit a Silver Sands Marina album activation at The Pinnacle plaza. The experience will be open Thursday, Sept. 24 from 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 25 from noon to 10 p.m. The plaza will feature large-scale displays inspired by the album, photo opportunities, food trucks, bars and merchandise. Fans will also be able to purchase physical copies of Silver Sands Marina, including signed vinyl and CDs and special-edition variants.
“This new music — maybe because we’ve had so much time to get it to this place — has taken me back to when albums mattered, the songs kind of spoke to each other, and we found some really special, unusual things,” Chesney said in a release.
He added that the energy around the new project, combined with a recent appearance on NBC’s TODAY Citi Concert Series, made him want to keep performing instead of wrapping up the year.
“We’re taking over the Pinnacle in Nashville,” Chesney said. “One night only, probably not more than a couple thousand tickets, and we’re trying to make it fun and fair to get in.”
Chesney said he hopes to perform five, six or even seven of the album’s 11 songs during the show.
Chesney hosted a registration-based system to purchase tickets earlier this month, in which fans registered for tickets through Fair AXS. Some lucky fans were able to get tickets for only $10! Those who were selected have already received a link to finalize the purchase of their tickets. The Nashville show will also be broadcast on No Shoes Radio for fans who are unable to attend in person.
Chesney’s new album, Silver Sands Marina, includes the title track along with songs such as “Goldfish” and “Carry On,” which he recently performed on TODAY.
The special Nashville event comes after Chesney recently announced a 19-city stadium tour and completed his second residency at Sphere in Las Vegas.
“I love the idea that songs can give people their lives in three- and four-minute pieces,” Chesney said. “When I started listening back, I said, ‘Why wait for the tour?'”
Chesney said the Nashville performance will give fans the first real chance to experience the new music in a live setting before the larger tour begins.
