The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) will host a free Alzheimer’s & Caregiving Educational Conference in Nashville on Wednesday, November 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southwestern Conference Center, located at 2451 Atrium Way. Click for More Events
The conference, part of AFA’s National Educating Across America Tour, will feature experts discussing Alzheimer’s disease, brain health, advances in treatment and resources for caregivers. The event is open to the public, and advance registration is encouraged.
Country music star Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, will share their family’s personal experience with dementia during a session titled Caregiver Voices: Strength, Love, and Resilience. Jason’s uncle died following a battle with Lewy body dementia, while Brittany’s father, Donald Kerr, has been living with the disease since 2022.
The couple will discuss the emotional challenges families face and offer encouragement to caregivers. Attendees will also see the music video for Aldean’s song “Help You Remember,” which explores the impact of dementia on loved ones.
Additional speakers include Dr. Patricia Andrews of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, who will discuss advancements in Alzheimer’s detection, research and treatment, and Lee Ann Hyatt, founder of the nonprofit We Remember You, who will address the challenges caregivers face and ways communities can offer support.
“Knowledge is a useful and powerful tool that can help make any situation easier to navigate, especially something as challenging as caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease,” said AFA President and CEO Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.
The conference is free, but advance registration is highly recommended. To register, visit alzfdn.org/tour.
