Cannon County Schools will be closed Monday, January 26th and Tuesday, January 27th due to weather and extreme cold conditions moving into the area, writes Director of Schools Julie Vincent.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from midnight Friday until 6pm Sunday.
Heavy mixed precipitation expected with total snow and sleet accumulations of between 3 to 6 inches and ice accumulations between two tenths and one half of an inch.
Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice and travel could be nearly impossible.
