Yorgos Lanthimos at his most disturbing. Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman are slowly drawn into an impossible situation by a mysterious teenager.
4. The Usual Suspects (July 1)
One of the great neo-noir thrillers with one of cinema’s most iconic twists. If you’ve avoided spoilers all these years, now is the time.
5. The Mummy (1999) (July 1)
Peak late-90s blockbuster fun with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. The whole series arrives this month if you want to make a weekend of it.
6. Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, Season 1 (July 23)
The Big Bang Theory spinoff puts Kevin Sussman’s beloved comic book store owner front and center for the first time. The Max Original gives him the spotlight he’s earned.
7. Dumb Money (July 13)
The GameStop short squeeze story is more entertaining than it has any right to be. Paul Dano anchors a sharp ensemble in one of the better financial dramas in years.
8. The Man Will Burn (July 9)
New HBO Original. Details are sparse, which is usually a good sign. Watch this one blind.
9. Marc by Sofia (July 16)
Sofia Coppola documenting Marc Jacobs is a natural pairing. An A24 release arriving mid-month.
10. The Drama (July 31)
