The Tennessee Whiskey Trail is expanding with new distillery stops in Nashville and Chattanooga. More Eat & Drink News

The statewide network, which includes more than 30 distilleries and tasting rooms, has added Dam Whiskey Co. and Silverbelly Distillery to its list of destinations.

Dam Whiskey Co. operates locations at historic Hales Bar Dam along the Tennessee River and in downtown Chattanooga. The distillery produces whiskey, bourbon, vodka, moonshine, rum, gin and agave spirits.

Its Hales Bar location incorporates the history of the former hydroelectric dam, which was built in the early 1900s and decommissioned in 1967. Guided tours include access to the barrel room, historic structure and underground tunnels. The property is also known for its reputation as a paranormal destination.

Silverbelly Distillery, located near Lower Broadway in downtown Nashville, is home to Silverbelly Whiskey, a brand connected to country music artist Alan Jackson.

Named after Jackson’s signature silverbelly cowboy hat, the distillery offers Tennessee whiskey in small-batch, barrel-proof and limited-release varieties. Each batch is assigned a “Chart Number” tied to one of Jackson’s No. 1 hits, beginning with “Here in the Real World.”

Visitors can take part in whiskey tastings, order cocktails and visit the Alan Jackson Museum. The location also offers a backstage VIP tour.

“Whiskey tourism gives visitors a unique way to experience Tennessee, and the Tennessee Whiskey Trail connects them with destinations and communities they may not otherwise discover,” said Charity Toombs, executive director of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail.

The latest additions follow the recent inclusion of Blue Note Distillery in Memphis and Leatherwood Distillery in Clarksville.

The Tennessee Whiskey Trail also offers a free digital passport that allows visitors to check in at participating locations and earn rewards. Its website features curated itineraries, restaurant pairings and recommendations for nearby attractions and historic sites.
