OBITUARY: Mary Agnes Underhill

Mary “Agnes” Farless Underhill, 84, of Woodbury passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Rutherford Memory Care. She was the daughter of the late Robert Chester and Minnie Pirtle Farless.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Chester Wayne Underhill of Woodbury, her children, Larry (Robin) Underhill of McMinnville, Garry (Tracy) Underhill of Murfreesboro, Michael (Cindy) Underhill of Woodbury and Angela (Brian) Harrell of Readyville; grandchildren, Jordan (Meagan) Underhill, Caleb Underhill, Logan (Haley) Underhill, Alanna (Dustin) Tapp, Sloane Underhill, MaKayla (Garrett) Johnson, Kelsey Underhill, Brianna (Corey) Davidson, Lucas (Mattie) Harrell, Carlos Harrell and Sophie Harrell and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving is her half-brother, Verlin Farless of Grover, N.C., half-sister, Pam Farless of Smithville, niece, Vicky (Mohamed) El Kaissy, nephew, J.D. Underhill of Woodbury, sister-in-law, Betty Johnson of Woodbury and her fur baby, Skittles.

A member of the Short Mountain Church of God, Mrs. Underhill held various jobs over the years but the one dearest to her heart was being a homemaker and seamstress. She loved her family dearly, spending cherished times with them and making memories.

Her family will receive friends Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and Monday, October 5, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 5, 2026 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Gunter-Grizzle cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
