The agreement establishes the framework for DriveTN to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Choice Lanes under a 50-year contract.

The project will create Tennessee’s first Choice Lanes facility and is designed to manage traffic along the congested I-24 corridor between Nashville and Murfreesboro.

TDOT and DriveTN will now work toward financial close, the final step in the procurement process, which is expected in 2027.

The Transportation Modernization Board approved TDOT’s selection of DriveTN as the project partner during its Aug. 19 meeting.

The public will have an opportunity to learn more about DriveTN’s technical proposal during open house meetings planned for November. TDOT said dates, locations and additional information will be announced in the coming weeks.
