The large Margherita Magnifico costs $12.99 and is offered for a limited time at participating Marco’s Pizza locations across the country. Customers can order in-store, online at marcos.com or through the Marco’s Pizza app. The promotion runs while supplies last, so availability may vary by location.
What Is on the Margherita Magnifico
The pizza starts with dough made fresh in each store every day and proofed for at least 18 hours before being hand-stretched into a thinner crust. From there, it is built in layers:
- Marco’s signature pizza sauce
- Thick slices of fresh mozzarella and a shredded three-cheese blend
- Extra-large Roma tomatoes, sliced in-store and placed between the mozzarella
- A basil drizzle made from fresh chopped basil
- Garlic sauce on the crust and a sprinkle of romesan seasoning
Where the Basil Drizzle Comes From
The basil used in the drizzle is grown for Marco’s in California’s Central Valley. Only first- or second-cut basil is used, and it is chopped and turned into the drizzle shortly after harvest. The drizzle is finished across the top of the pizza after baking to add fresh basil flavor to each slice.
How Marco’s Developed the Recipe
Chef Kathleen Kennedy, Marco’s Director of Culinary Innovation, led development of the Margherita Magnifico. Her team tested more than 20 recipes before settling on the final version, focusing on fresh-tasting ingredients that meet Marco’s sourcing standards. Kennedy has called the basil drizzle the part of the pizza she is most proud of.
