Nashville International Airport will change its parking garage traffic pattern beginning Sept. 23 as construction moves forward on a new, larger rental car facility and parking garage.
Starting Sept. 23, the exit from Terminal Garage 1 (TG1) will close, but the entrance will remain open. Drivers entering TG1 will continue using the existing plaza, while those leaving the garage will be directed through Terminal Garage 2 (TG2).
TG2 connects to TG1 on Levels 2 through 6, allowing travelers to move between the two garages.
To exit TG1, drivers should:
- Follow the updated traffic pattern and posted signs directing them to TG2.
- Continue following exit signs and take the helix down to Level P2.
- Pay for parking as usual. TG1 parking tickets will be accepted at TG2 exit lanes.
Airport officials are encouraging travelers to allow extra time as they adjust to the new route and follow posted signs throughout the garages.
Parking capacity will not change as a result of the roadway changes. TG1 will continue to have 4,366 covered spaces, while TG2 will have 2,160 covered spaces. All parking levels will remain accessible, and travelers can continue moving between TG1 and TG2 through garage access points on Levels 2-6.
The changes are part of BNA’s $3 billion New Horizon growth and expansion program and mark a major milestone toward construction of the new rental car facility and parking garage.
The new complex will accommodate 4,700 vehicles, including 3,500 ready-return stalls and 1,200 staging and storage spaces. The facility will have six stories and 3.5 million square feet, along with a new parking garage with 3,000 spaces.
Additional roadway changes are expected later this fall, with more information to be released as plans are finalized.
