Some of country music’s biggest names will gather in Nashville this fall to celebrate the career and legacy of Country Music Hall of Fame member Ray Stevens.
Don’t Look, Ethel! A Salute to the Musical Genius of Ray Stevens will take place Monday, Nov. 9, at the Grand Ole Opry, bringing together stars from country, gospel, comedy and entertainment for a one-night-only tribute. More Entertainment News
The lineup includes Ricky Skaggs, Ronnie Milsap, Jamey Johnson, Gretchen Wilson, Mark Chesnutt, The Gatlin Brothers, Lee Greenwood, Collin Raye, Darryl Worley, Dailey & Vincent, Mark Wills, Billy Dean, Jeff Bates, Deborah Allen and Cledus T. Judd, who will also host the event. Additional performers are expected to be announced.
Country Music Hall of Fame member Randy Travis will make a special appearance. The evening will also include remarks from Nancy Jones, widow of George Jones, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler and WWE legend Mickie James.
Nashville-based band Sixwire will serve as the house band for the tribute.
“I’ve always been so fond of the Nashville music community, and I’m truly honored that they would want to do this tribute,” Stevens said. “All my life I’ve wanted to be successful in the music business and have people appreciate what I create. That’s impossible without the fans. I’m so grateful for all of them!”
Stevens has spent decades building a career that crosses country, pop, gospel and comedy. In addition to his well-known novelty songs, he has earned recognition as a songwriter, musician, producer and performer, making him one of Nashville’s most distinctive entertainers.
The November concert will highlight the wide range of Stevens’ career and feature artists and friends influenced by his music, songwriting, musicianship and sense of humor.
