The Nashville Sports Council and Opry Entertainment Group have announced the first-ever Music City Kickoff Concert, set for Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Ascend Federal Credit Union Amphitheater. Click for More Events
The concert will feature performances by Lee Brice, Gabby Barrett and Payton Smith, with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will officially kick off a weekend filled with college sports in Nashville. On Sunday, September 6, the second annual Sprouts Farmers Market Broadway Block Party will take place at Bridgestone Arena. The women’s college volleyball double-header will feature Louisville vs. Texas, airing on ABC, and Tennessee vs. Indiana, airing on ESPN2. The event begins at 11 a.m.
Later that evening, college football takes center stage at Nissan Stadium with the inaugural Liberty Mutual Music City Kickoff. The neutral-site season opener will feature the Louisville Cardinals against the Ole Miss Rebels. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m., and the game will air on ABC.
“We’re continuously looking for creative ways to engage locals and tourists with new sporting events and continued elevation of Nashville’s favorite traditions,” said Scott Ramsey, president and CEO of the Nashville Sports Council in a release. “Nashville has long been known as Music City, and we’ve worked tirelessly to make it a sports destination as well. This inaugural concert brings the two together for an unforgettable holiday weekend of entertainment.”
