Jerry Ray Barrett, 84, of the Burt Burgen Community in Cannon Co., passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 at Alive Hospice. Born in Woodbury, he was the son of the late Harmon Barrett and Ruby Fann Barrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Barrett and his brothers, Maurice, Dudley and Lindrell Barrett.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Faye Todd Barrett of Woodbury, his daughter and son-in-law, Kellee & Hunter Fite of Lascassas; grandchildren, Jonathan (Heather) King of Waco, TX, Dylan King, Kelcy King and Callie Fite all of Lascassas; great grandchildren, Hazel and Emmett King of Waco, TX; and sister-in-law, Jeanie Barrett of Readyville. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Jerry was a Deacon of Burt Baptist Church and was retired business owner of Woodbury Auto Parts. He enjoyed horseback riding, working on the farm, homemade ice cream and being with his family making memories. Jerry witnessed to everyone who walked through his door including the nurses at Alive Hospice.
His final prayer to all…”Remember friends as you pass by, as you are now so once was I. As I am now, you soon shall be. Prepare yourself to follow me.”
The Barrett family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Burt Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at 12:00 Noon at Thyatira Cemetery with Bro. Don McMurry and Bro. David Moody officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
