Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival will take a year off in 2027, organizers announced on social media, saying The Farm in Manchester, Tennessee, needs additional time to recover following two consecutive years of severe weather. More Entertainment News
The announcement comes after much rumor and speculation in the last few days.
Organizers said they made significant improvements to the property ahead of this year’s event to better protect the grounds from severe weather. The work included improved drainage, 4.5 miles of new roadways and 135 acres of new grass throughout the campgrounds and Centeroo.
Despite those upgrades, organizers said back-to-back years of storms have taken a toll on the property, particularly the festival’s main venue area.
“With limited time to recuperate from back to back years of storms, including the heavy rainstorm on Sunday this year, The Farm, particularly the main venue, needs a break to rest and recover,” organizers shared.
As a result, Bonnaroo will not return in 2027.
“This wasn’t an easy decision, and not one we take lightly, but in our hearts, we know this break will only make Bonnaroo better,” organizers said.
The announcement follows Bonnaroo 2026, which organizers described as an “epic” weekend and a reminder of what makes the longtime Tennessee festival and its community special.
Bonnaroo did not announce a return date beyond confirming the festival will take 2027 off. The four-day festival began in 2002 in the small town of Manchester, Tennessee. Over the years, headliners have included Post Malone, Luke Combs, Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, and Stevie Nicks.
Another local festival, Pilgrimage Festival in Franklin, also announced it would not return for 2026. At this time, there is no update on whether the festival will return in 2027.
