Michael Earl Robertson Obit

Michael Earl Robertson passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, after a brave battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was 61 years old.

He was born in Norfolk, Virginia, in October 1963 to David and Betty Jo Robertson. He grew up in Lynchburg, Tennessee, where he made many memories and cherished loved ones who will forever know him as “Michael Earl.” He spent his early years driving tractors and motorcycles on his family farm, playing football for Moore County High School (Class of 1981), and exploring the countryside with his friends.

He married Robin (Waller) Robertson in 1983, with whom he shared 36 years and three children: Joey Robertson, Ryan Robertson, and Kelsey (Robertson) Edson. He raised his family in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and became heavily involved in the Boy Scouts and the North Boulevard Church of Christ youth group. His passion was serving, whether it was teaching Boy Scouts how to kayak, repairing a friend’s air conditioner, or cooking food for crowds of friends and strangers alike at an MTSU tailgate—he was at his best when giving to and serving others.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Robin Waller Robertson; his mother, Betty Jo Robertson; and his father, David Lane Robertson. He is survived by his children: Joey Robertson (Kelly), Ryan Robertson, and Kelsey Edson (Graham); his sister, Terry Sue Fanning (Stanley); his father-in-law, Joe Waller; and his three precious grandchildren: Chloe Robertson, Laney Robertson, and Audrey Edson. He was also dearly loved by his nieces and their families: Katie Presson (Travis), Abby Smith (Kyle), and Hailey Brazier (Zach).

Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with David Skidmore and Cory Bransford officiating. A graveside will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Boonville Cemetery in Lincoln County following the funeral service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has visited and comforted Michael and his family. We especially want to thank the nurses and staff of Harmony at Victory Station and the Lynchburg Nursing Center for loving and assisting us throughout this difficult journey.
